  Magdalena Bay is a special reserve for the protection of the Pacific Gray Whale. The whales migrate here they’re feeding grounds north of Alaska to court, breed, give birth and simply frolic in the warm, calm waters of Baja’s Pacific lagoons. – Ride across the peninsula to the Pacific Coast of Baja to Magdalena Bay in a comfortable van with tunes and movies. – Visit the small village of Lopez Mateos and its whale museum. – Learn about local flora and fauna with a special focus on gray whale natural history and behavior. – Experience an encounter with whales on a 2-hour ride into the bay where whales abound. These boats are skillfully and sensitively operated by local boatmen who have many years of experience working with guests. – Explore the spectacular windswept dunes.  – Delight with a typical lunch with the flavors of the sea homemade by the locals of a secluded island.

  We will guide and translate  you into this sharing experience where you will meet this family from Baja Sur.

  Wake up early for a short drive to our host Ranch where we will be welcome with Baja style coffee. Help the ranchers milk cows and goats to prepare artisanal cheese. make tortillas from scratch, salsa, beans and other basic elements of Ranchero breakfast.

  After enjoying a good meal and chatting with the rancheros about their traditional lifestyle, we can optionally take pictures on their horse and then hike to a close spring to admire the beauty of the canyon Back in the ranch, lunch awaits before we say goodbye to our lovely hosts.  Before heading back take the opportunity to buy cheese from this artisanal producers.

• Sunset / Sunrise Horseback Riding – Experience of connection with nature that will truly allow yourself go and enjoy the ride on the horse. Sunset or sunrise rides available every Monday for individual reservations or everyday bookings for groups 4 people up.

  Meditate life on the back of a horse while contemplating the beauty of the coastal landscape, listening to birds chat and contemplating giant Cardon cactus. This is an experience of connection with nature that will truly allow yourself go and enjoy the ride.

  A basic lesson before riding will be hosted by a pro cowboy and translated by your bilingual guide.

• Bioluminescence night tour – Join us and learn all about the natural spectacles of Bioluminescence Snorkel to feel the magic in this night excursions 3 hours long.

  This is a night time excursion (3-4 hours)  in the calm waters of the Gulf of California Our expert biologist will introduce us to the bioluminescence phenomenon, microscopes involved to fully meet this  After our presentation, we will provide you gear and drive you 20 minutes to our special bioluminescent beach where you will have the option of snorkeling  the bioluminescence. You will see thousands of bright sparkles underwater  After our night snorkel, hot cocoa, tea, and a light snack await before we head back to La Ventana after our magical encounter with nature.

• Beach Day at Punta Arenas – Enjoy a relaxing day contemplating one of the most breathtaking beaches of Baja and snorkeling the coral reef to help us collect data for our citizen monitoring program.

  One of the most breathtaking beaches of Baja only 40 minutes away from La Ventana, enjoy a relaxing day contemplating the ocean and snorkeling the coral reef while helping us collect data for our citizen monitoring program.

  Our guide will share with you all of the intriguing histories of this site and its lighthouse while walking on a petrified coral reef and identifying fossils. Once into the reef, our guide will lead you to “Cueva de Mano de León” to admire the biodiversity of this site. As we snorkel we will identify species to collect this Data and provide it to science database for research of this ecosystem After this refreshing snorkel, we will enjoy an amazing lunch and recover strengths to continue exploring.

  You’ll hike through the oasis into the coast to admire birds and the lush oasis landscape of this historical town. You will explore this town through the legends behind its walls,  as your guide reveals the best of the golden years of Todos Santos. We will also admire the art expressed in the several galleries of this town that exudes emotion. Every corner is a perfect background for a memorable picture. Enjoy life in this town and relax. you can never leave!

• Pericu Hike – Hike and learn about the native tribes of Baja Sur and their survival in the Desert, admire the cave paintings   and practice your Spanish.

  3-hour hike to the cape paintings in Sierra Cacachilas hiking on one of the natives cyclic routes to hunt and gather to understand the survivals skills that allowed them to inhabit an arid desert for thousands of years.  focused on the native flora & fauna and how these resources were converted into tools, medicine, food, and refugee.

  A local Ranchero and a certified naturalist will be your guides during this thematic hike.

• Hot Springs and Waterfalls in the biosphere – This 2-hour drive south will take you to the natural pools of Sierra La Laguna Biosphere to refresh at the waterfalls and relax at the hot springs. Feb 20  sign up as individuals or a group. Bookings every day for groups of 4 up.

  Visit Sol de Mayo’s waterfall and refresh in its clear waters. Later, we will drive 20 minutes to relax at the hot springs and, if you wish, hike a bit more to have fun climbing on the granite boulders of this canyon. Your guide will set up a private picnic lunch to delight you with the traditional flavors of this region.
